Arbitrary use of nouns as verbs
Increasingly, people are using nouns as verbs, participles, or gerunds.
example: 'As we transition into a global concern, efficient officeing will be necessary.'
These words should not be used as verbs because we already have good verbs to describe the actions (As we change into an international corporation, we will have to increase the efficiency of our offices.) Moreover, the unusual use of these nouns as verbs draws the knowledgeable reader's attention, and she or he wonders why the author writes in a trendy manner. Language, however, is not static; if these nouns are useful as verbs, they will over time be recognized and accepted as verbs.
